On the occasion of Diwali, the minority Hindu community of Pakistan was celebrated by the Pakistani Consulate Office with the Pakistani delegation.
Consul General Ayesha Ali of the Consulate of Pakistan welcomed the delegation of Overseas Pakistanis residing in New York.
On this occasion, Ashok Kumar Baria, Vajeesh Partab, leader of Muslim community Chaudhry Abdul Rauf Bhally and William Shahzad, James Cyprian and George William from Christian community participated in this event .
Chaudhry Abdul Rauf Bhally recited the holy verses Quran, George William recited from the Christianity religion and Ashok Baria recited the Hindu religious scriptures and welcomed Consul General Ayesha Ali to greet her on the Diwali festival and also offered a special prayer for Pakistan’s development.
In this regard, Pakistani Consul General of New York Ayesha Ali said that Diwali festival is being celebrated in Pakistan with great enthusiasm and now all upcoming religious festivals will be celebrated here together with you Pakistanis so that the message of interfaith harmony should also be spread by all Pakistani diplomatic offices around the world.
New York’s Pakistani community leader James Cyprian also presented a special document to Consul General Ayesha Ali on behalf of the delegation, informing about the social and constitutional problems faced by the minority community living in Pakistan.
On this occasion, Chaudhry Abdul Rauf Bhally said that Pakistan and overseas Pakistanis living all over the world love their country very much, regardless of their religion, their hearts beat for Pakistan.
Speaking on this occasion, Vajeesh Partab said that today Consul General Ayesha Ali took a historic step for the diplomatic affairs of Pakistan by celebrating the festival of lights Diwali in Pakistan Consulate Office herein New York, infact she has enlightened the new chapter in Pakistan’s diplomacy for the State of Pakistan, to which we pay tribute and encouraged Ayesha Ali and hope that this process will be adopted as a diplomatic tradition. Apart from this, Ashok Kumar Baria said that we wish Consul General Ayesha Ali and her staff Happy Diwali and all of us Overseas Pakistanis need to unite so that we can play our important role for Pakistan together.
Later, all the staff of the Consulate General of Pakistan along with the Pakistani American delegation from New York under the leadership of Consul General Ayesha Ali cut the Diwali festival cake and distributed sweets and gifts for which all the members of the delegation thanked them wholeheartedly.
