Rafia Javed Mallah Registrar Directorate of Inspection & Registration of Private Institutions Sindh (DIRPIS) issued directives to all Principals/Administrators of Privately Managed Schools of Karachi for the submission of 10% Free ship /Scholarship provided to the students in academic session of 2021-22 as well as the record of sindhi language teachers within 15 days.
It was mentioned in a Top Priority letter of Registrar DIRPIS that it has been observed that some privately managed schools do not Rule 13 of “The Sindh Educational Institutions (Regulation & Control) Rule-2005” regarding 10% free ship/scholarship to deserving students.
Whereas it was stated in the said directive issued on 7th September 2021 that Letters/directives/Press release have also been issued to all privately managed schools in this regard from time to time.
However as per Act 1972 Amendment Act 1990 and resolution passed by the provincial assembly on 17th February 2010 the Sindhi language being a provincial language should be taught as a compulsory subject from class 3 to 9th in all private and Government Schools in Sindh.
Rafia Javed mentioned in a said letter , it has been observed that schools followed Cambridge Education System/GCE/IGCSE do not teach Sindh subject to their students which is a clear violation of the rules .
She directed all privately managed educational institutions to strictly observe the rule of teaching sindhi language to the students of class 3 to 9th and award free ship/scholarship to 10% deserving/meritorious students of the total enrollment at the school.
She also warned Private institutions via said letter that in case of non compliance action will be initiated as per Section 8 of The Sindh Education Institutions (Regulation & Control) Ordinance-2001, Amended Act 2003.
