Link Road connects national highway with motorway near Gulshan – e – Hadeed and is spread 17 kilometers in dangerous and worst conditions from years.

It was constructed in the tenure of UC Darsana Chana Chairman late Haji Ali Bukhsh Jokhio after an agreement with Steel Mill administration in the year of 1984 that construction material of Steel Mill will be brought by Link Road with tax exemption.

Approximately 38 years have passed to that busy road and about 5 billions rupees have been collected extra taxes but not a single penny is spent on it’s maintenance till today that’s way it has been destroyed and altered into broken, dangerous and narrow shape where often accidents occur.

Passengers bus collided with oil tanker in 2015 on that narrow road and cause of that incident 62 passengers were demised after burning also hundreds of people have been lost in countless incidents on the same road.

Opposition leader of current Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh set up expostulate camp regarding Link Road’s reconstruction but nothing has happened yet.

Habitants of area are astonished and disappointed a lot over this situation, on the other hand Kathore bridge is closed due to its perilous and rough condition andsubstitute bridge was built consuming billions of rupees for temporary basis which is washed out after few hours of rain.

When heavy traffic road closed and they drove on internal routes of thickly populated and rural areas because of what those small routes which were constructed for local communities became destroyed and cause of that quarrel and dispute among local people and heavy traffic drivers have occurred on usual basis and police is taking advantage of it that’s way police has allowed drivers to utilize small local roads after accepting fistful bribe from them.

On the other side little bird told that Sindh government has taken back Link Road from Local Department and handed over to Works and Services Department also funds are allocated in ADP after 38 years so it will be first time that feasibility of tender issuance for the maintenance of Link Road has cleared.
