Court orders FIR against SHO CTD and others
KARACHI: (Press Release) District and Session Judge (DJ) West Abdul Naeem Memon on Wednesday ordered to Inspector General of Police (IGP) to register the criminal case against Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Civil Lines and his entire kidnappers’ team and directed to IGP and CCPO Karachi to conduct departmental proceedings against all culprits.
A lady, Mst Tahira Nazeer through her counsel, the Chairman International Lawyers Forum (ILF), Nasir Ahmed filed a petition HCP No 1109/2021 before DJ West in which she stated that the CTD officials kidnapped her son namely Muhamamd Talat Nazeer on 11-04-2021 from outside her home and first shifted the abductee to PS CTD Civil Lines then moved to Shahid Hayat Police Training College (PTC) Baldia, Saeedabad where on the specific directions of CTD In-charge Omer Shahid, the SHO CTD detained the abductee in an underground torture cell while Omer’s right hand namely Dilawar demanding heavy ransom for his release.
The XIII th Judicial Magistrate Sajid Ali Chang along with ILF’s members Barrister Sardar Habib Baloch, Jamshed Ali Khowaja Advocate, Muhamamd Salman Farhad Advocate, Syed Jaffer Abbas Jafri Advocate, Tahir Malik Advocates and others raided on 17-04-2021 at PTC Saeedabad and recovered abductee Talat Nazeer from the secret iron cage, which was 2 feet wide, 2 feet high and 7 feet long and submitted his report to the said DJ.
In his order, the DJ West observed keeping any citizen in illegal detention is an offence but more particularly when such abduction is coupled with demanding the amount in lieu of the release, then such offence becomes more serious and for that the Law Enforcement Agencies must check such elements existing in the department in accordance with law, so the common citizen may make the free movement and enjoy the liberty in the society.
The right and liberty of the common citizen has been curtailed by the SHO of PS CTD and his team. In these circumstances, SSP CTD Karachi and IGP Sind are hereby directed to record the statement of the applicant or detenue in compliance of section 154 Cr. P.C and proceed with the course of law against the SHO of PS CTD and his team.
IGP Sindh and CCPO Karachi are hereby directed to conduct departmental proceeding against the SHO PS CTD and his team.
