A Conference to promote peace and tolerance among educated youth was held on Monday at Bahria Auditorium Karsaz Karachi, under the platform of Paigham-e-Pakistan.
The Minister for Education & Literacy Department Sindh Sardar Shah was the chief guest on the occasion, and Zahid Ali Abbasi Secretary of School Education & Literacy Department Government of Sindh, was the guest of honour.
Secretary Education delivered the opening speech, highlighting the importance of peace and tolerance in our society.
Syed Sardar Shah, in his speech, shed light on the Indus civilization and the significance of peace and tolerance among educated youth.
Archbishop Benny Mario Travas also delivered a speech to the audience. Students of St. Lawrence’s School and Happy Palace Grammar School performed a tableau in accordance with the theme of the event.
Ms. Rafia Javed, Additional Director, and Mr. Muhammad Afzal, Director General of Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh served as the emcees of the program.
Mr. Akhlaq Ahmed and other officers of the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions were also present.
Mufti Abdul Qadir Jaffer and Allama Sajjad Tanoli (Organizers PeP Sindh) and Meraj Siddiqui presented shields from Paigham-e-Pakistan to the Minister for Education, the Secretary of School Education and Ms. Rafia Javed.
The final speech was delivered by Mufti Muhammad Zubair, religious scholar, former member of Islamic Ideological Council and Mohtamim of Suffa University, He emphasized on the importance of peace, interfaith harmony, the rule of law, and tolerance.
Whereas Qari Sajjad Ahmed Tanoli highlighted the importance of peace and interfaith harmony and Mufti Abdul Qadar has spoken about law and justice. 800 private schools have participated in this program.
