Collaborative Efforts of IBCC and MoIPC to Revive Sports in Schools and Colleges

Mr. Nadeem Irshad Kayani, Secretary of the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination Commission (IPC), and on the directives of Secretary Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director of the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) held a productive meeting today to discuss initiatives aimed at reviving sports in schools and colleges across Pakistan.

Both leaders recognized these institutions as the nurseries of talent for various sports and agreed on a collaborative approach to identify, nurture, and develop young athletes from different regions of the country.

During the meeting, Dr. Mallah and Mr. Kayani emphasized the importance of harnessing the immense potential of young players at the school level. They have a vision to prepare these players for competitions at national and international levels. The emphasis was to focus on regions that have shown exceptional promise in a particular sport and to develop a strategic plan to provide targeted support and training.

As part of this initiative, the Pakistan Sports Board will play a crucial role by offering comprehensive support in coaching, providing necessary sports gear and equipment, and ensuring the nutritional needs of the young athletes are met. This collaborative effort aims to create a robust pipeline of talent that can elevate Pakistan’s presence on the global sports stage.

Dr. Mallah expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “Our schools and colleges are filled with young talent that, with the right guidance and resources, can excel. This collaboration is a significant step toward building a strong foundation for sports in the country.”

Mr. Kayani added, “The Ministry of IPC is committed to revitalizing sports at the grassroots level. By working together with the IBCC, we are confident that we can create opportunities for our young athletes to shine and bring pride to the nation.”

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to take immediate steps towards implementing the outlined strategies, with a focus on creating a sustainable sports ecosystem that nurtures talent from the school level upwards.
