Municipal Commissioner East shockingly revealed that some criminals Collection of Ransom (Bhatta) from citizens in District East on the name of Charged Parking.
In a letter to Deputy Commissioner East , Municipal Commissioner East informed that they are receiving complaints from the general public that some criminals are collecting Bhatta (Ransom) in respect of charged parking within the jurisdiction of DMC East from different parking areas.
He asked DC East that after directions of Court dated 22nd August 2020 DMC itself collecting charged parking fees from the jurisdiction but some criminals threatened the staff and trying to encroach the charged parking sites.
MC East mentioned in a letter that on 4th September two persons namely Shamim Haider and Abdullah came at the charge parking site of Chaar Minar Chowrangi Bahadurabad and beaten the Charged Parking staff and threatened them to leave the area.
Waseem Mustufa Soomro urged DC East M. Ali Shah to take action against these criminals who involve in illegal activities and threatening DMC East Staff and Officers.
On the other hand DMC East officer on the anonymity of name informed that there are total 18 charge parking sites of District Municipal Corporation East which has encroached by the said persons and they are illegally collecting the charge parking fee from citizens by deputing their private staff.
He also shared that Shamim Haider was reportedly a blue eyed person of Moid Anwer and during his tenure they were taking charge parking fee from citizens without the approval of DMC East as the tender was not held successfully last year and now the department is advertising for tender for their 18 Charged Parking sites .
It was learned that the process of the tender would complete in 30 days as per the directions of court .
Moreover, City News also learned that the said person is allegedly threatening DMC East Director Charge Parking by filing fake complaints in the police station and also threatening him via phone calls to give the parking sites to them.
