Census is red line for MQM-P, says Kamal
KARACHI: The census is the red line for Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P).
“We will pursue this goal through all permissible legal means. We did not engage in any political manoeuvring during the census, and we will not allow it to be politicised by anyone,” said the party’s Senior Deputy Convenor, Syed Mustafa Kamal.
Addressing the MQM’s general workers’ meeting Kamal emphasised the importance of counting every single resident of Sindh, especially in Karachi, for the existence of the state.
The incorrect count of Karachi’s population in the census findings could have disastrous repercussions for the entire country.
Kamal mentioned that Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) had not yet condemned the detention, abuse, and extrajudicial killings of innocent youth in Karachi.
