The chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto on Friday arrived in Tando Bago town of Badin district and visited the relief camps established by the district administration to provide shelter to flood and rain-victims in Tando Bago town of Badin district.
The PPP chairman speaking to affected people during the public gathering in Tando Bago town assured them of the all possible assistance to them by Sindh Government in the difficult times despite the limited resources due to alleged callous attitude of the Federal government.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari came down hard on Federal Government for denying the due funds of NFC Award for past three years and asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to visit the affected areas of Sindh and announce the relief package for all those badly affected by the heavy rains.
The PPP chairman said that Imran Khan was not the Prime Minister of Islamabad or any specific area but was of the whole country adding he asked him to issue the watan Cards to the affected people of Sindh like PPP government had done in 2011.
He said that damaged agriculture sector in most of the district also needed the huge package for its revival.
The PPP chairman also requested Chief Justice of Pakistan to release the due amount which was confiscated by the apex court adding he said that amount was of Sindh province and PPP Government wanted to spend it on the various projects like LBOD on the irrigation system right Tando Bago to Kashmore.
Bilawal Bhutto said that Federal Government just had earmarked some amount for few schemes in Karachi but was reluctant to provide them the funds for various other schemes in other parts of province.
Bilawal said that the breaches to the dykes of LBOD had played havoc in Badin and certain other districts adding he said Badin was first hard hit by the persistent water shortage now by the floods.
The PPP chairman lashed at Federal Minister who was elected from Badin for her alleged failure to even the visit the affected people adding he demanded her to tender resination.
He said that Sindh Government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah had been trying to mitigate the sufferings inflicted by the rains and subsequent breaches to the drains adding he had already directed the concerned functionaries to carry out the survey of LBOD and other drains so that the corrective measures could be made to avoid any loss in future.
Bilawal Bhutto said that the Federal Government was showing no mercy for the affected people in Sindh but they would continue to support them till they were resettled.
He also expressed his grief over the huge losses to standing crops which were washed away during heavy downpours.
