Cairman of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Dr. Fawad Ahmed, has stated that effective coordination among all municipal institutions is essential to ensure the timely completion of long-term development projects.

He made these remarks while reviewing the ongoing road improvement work behind the Federal Urdu University.

Dr. Fawad emphasized that the responsibility of the sewerage system lies with the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation, and it must fulfill its duties promptly and effectively.

He added that several roads in Gulshan-e-Iqbal have been resurfaced this year, and the administration is fully prepared to complete the remaining work. However, it is imperative that the Water Corporation first address the drainage system to ensure the longevity of newly constructed roads.

The Chairman also expressed concern over the constant delays and poor planning of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which he said has increased the difficulties faced by citizens and obstructed the provision of municipal services.

However, Dr. Fawad stressed the need for a joint timeline with relevant authorities, including the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and the Water Corporation, to ensure that work progresses under a coordinated strategy.

During his visit, he also met with local residents and issued on-the-spot directives for the resolution of their issues.

Vice Chairman of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Ibrahim Siddiqui, Coordinator Tahir Akbar, Kamran Chishti, Athar Pasha, and Yousuf Khurram. Director Parks Rao Ghulam Rasool and Executive Engineer Rashid Fayyaz were also present on the occasion.
