Lashing out at former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan following party leader Fawad Chaudhry’s “truck” remarks, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that they will “puncture” all four tyres of the truck.

In the alleged conversation between Fawad and his brother Faisal Chaudhry, the names of three judges – Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, and Supreme Court judge Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi come up.

“The CJ Lahore is asking for a general [meeting] with Bandial to be arranged,” a voice allegedly of Fawad is heard saying which is affirmed by another voice purportedly of Faisal in the phone call.

“Also, meet Mazahir through Mr. Dar and tell him that a loaded truck is standing in your name, tell us what we should do with it,” the PTI leader reportedly said before adding that “my recommendation is that after doing three or four suits on Tarar, he should be given [Section] 228 there so that they come under some pressure at least”.

“Now I don’t need to say anything… wherever we see the truck going, we will understand [what is happening],” Maryam said while addressing a rally in Gujranwala. “We will puncture all four tyres of this truck.”

Talking about another alleged audio leak featuring former Punjab chief minister PTI leader Yasmin Rashid, she said it was not Maryam Nawaz who said that the “people” in Supreme Court.

“Now, don’t say the truck you have parked outside the court was driven by Maryam,” she said while apprising about allegations she, her father Nawaz Sharif, and other PML-N leaders have faced.

Talking about a contempt of court case against her, PML-N VC said that why there was no contempt of court case when Nawaz Sharif was sacked for not taking a salary from his son.

“Nawaz Sharif’s daughter is here in Gujranwala. Where is your [Imran Khan] daughter? The person who cannot give justice to his own daughter how can he give justice to Pakistan,” she said.

Maryam said that when a person like Imran Khan gets a certificate of Sadiq and Ameen then the courts get disrespected.

“I used to visit court five times a week with my father. Nawaz used to visit despite his wife being on her deathbed. We used to get orders that Nawaz must come [to the court] within an hour. Now this ladla (darling) shows only his plaster as the courts continue to summon him but there is no contempt [case],” she said.

She said that decisions against his father used to give within days but Imran Khan is being given all the time in the world. “You put a lifetime ban on Nawaz and 10-year ban on his daughter for not taking a salary from his son… why was this not disrespectful to the courts,” she maintained.

“I have named Zaman Park as Zamanat (bail) Park because he gets bails at his own house,” she said.

Hitting out at the recent meetings of US officials with PTI members, Maryam said that when Imran Khan’s government was sacked via a trust vote, he built a narrative that they will not become a slave of the US but the same person was now begging in front of US officials and seeking forgiveness from them.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif has lashed out at former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan following party leader Fawad Chaudhry’s alleged audio leak, in which names of three judges were mentioned.

Addressing a rally in Gujranwala on Friday, Maryam threatened to “puncture” all four tyres of the truck that was mentioned in the audio leak.

In the audio clip, Fawad Chaudhry allegedly discussed arranging a general meeting between Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Ameer Bhatti and Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, along with a Supreme Court judge Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi.

Maryam, while addressing the rally, said that the audio clip revealed that the PTI leader was interfering with the judiciary.

Maryam also spoke about another alleged audio leak featuring PTI leader Yasmin Rashid, in which she reportedly said that they had their “people” in the Supreme Court.

Maryam also talked about a contempt of court case against her, stating that no contempt of court case was filed when Nawaz Sharif was sacked for not taking a salary from his son. She accused Imran Khan of seeking a return to the same assembly which he had left willingly, questioning the PTI chief’s decision-making ability.

Maryam even compared Imran with drug addicts who are lying below flyovers, saying that such a person should not make decisions for a nation of 220 million people. She also criticized Imran Khan for seeking forgiveness from US officials, stating that he had previously built a narrative that they would not become a slave of the US.

Maryam said that her party was ready for elections and it was the only party already busy in election preparations. However, she added that first, a level playing field should be given to all parties before holding the polls.

Maryam ended her speech by taunting Imran Khan for removing the plaster on his leg, saying that he did not know it needed a Supreme Court verdict to remove a plaster. She accused Imran Khan of doubling the country’s loan and breaking the IMF deal, which had put the nation in a difficult situation.

Overall, Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s speech at the Gujranwala rally focused on criticizing Imran Khan and his party for alleged interference in the judiciary, breaking promises, and failing to deliver on its commitments. She also accused Imran Khan of conspiring against her father, Nawaz Sharif, and called for a level playing field for all parties in the upcoming elections.
