Under the directives of IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon and under the supervision of DIG Security Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, a convoy of trucks laden with relief goods for the flood victims was sent to different areas of Sindh yesterday from SSU Headquarters on behalf of Sindh Police. The goods will be distributed among the flood victims.
Citizens have donated the relief goods in the relief camps set up outside the SSU headquarters by the Security Division, it includes drinking water, pulses, food grains, dry milk, biscuits, tea and bedding etc.
DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Dr. Maqsood Ahmed who is also the focal person of Sindh Police Crisis Management Centre, personally briefed the commandos and officers accompanying the convoy and instructed to deliver the relief goods to the beneficiaries.
On this occasion, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed said that IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has issued special instructions to help the people of Sindh in this difficult time and stand aside with our brothers who are in distress. Keeping in view the orders and the spirit of patriotism, convoys of relief goods have left from the SSU headquarters which will distribute the necessities to the needy in different districts of Sindh.
He further said that Sindh Police is playing an exemplary role in the current crisis. The scope of services of Sindh Police has been expanded; it will now not only ensure maintaining law and order but also stand by the side of the flood victims in their difficult time and help them in every possible way.
