Director General, Karachi Development Authority,Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, imposed Rain Emergency in KDA Townships and schemes across the city.
According to the spokesperson of Karachi Development Authority, DG KDA canceled the leave of the concerned officers and employees in view of the expected pre-monsoon rains and issued orders to ensure attendance of all officers and employees to deal with any emergency situation to ensure timely action is taken.
In a meeting chaired by DG KDA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah in Civic Center Conference Room, Project Manager Mega Project (PDMA) was given a detailed briefing on cleaning of more than 17 drains across the city.
On the occasion, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, while expressing satisfaction over the measures taken to deal with the possible rains, directed that timely cleaning of drains and restoration of blocked drains should be done by manpower.
He said that utilize full resources to eliminate encroachments, no negligence will be tolerated in this regard, liaison between all concerned officers should be strengthened and cleaning of chowkin drains including Aziz Bhatti Nalla, Moti Mahal Nalla, Issa Nagri Nalla, Orangi and Korangi Nalla should be made a top priority and cleaning of all drains should be done before rains.
Member Finance Syed Shujaat Hussain, Secretary KDA Shamsul Haq Siddiqui, Director General Karachi Mass Transit Naeem Waheed, Chief Engineer Syed Ali Noman, Assistant Deputy Commissioner Malir Allah Dino Chana, Assistant Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Kabir, Director State and Enforcement Varial Indhar , Relevant engineers and other officers were present.
