Sindh Labour and Human Resources Minister, Saeed Ghani, has said that former prime minister Imran Khan has no care for the country as he only loves himself and that is why he has given the statement that God forbid Pakistan could disintegrate into three parts and its army could be destroyed.
Speaking at a press conference here at the Sindh Assembly building on Thursday, the Sindh Labour Minister said that Article-6 of the Constitution should be invoked for taking action against the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) owing to his anti-state act of violating the Constitution.
Ghani said that former PM Imran Khan was a mentally paralysed and imbecile person as owing to the unstable state he had earlier given the statement atomic bomb should better have been dropped on Pakistan instead of formation of a new government.
He said that Imran Khan had lost the ability to think about anything beyond his own self including Pakistan.
He said that Imran Khan had been attempting to cause civil war and sheer disorder in the country. He said the former PM had been conspiring against the country by attempting to divide the military and judiciary.
He said the PTI Chairman required immediate treatment for his mental issues.
He demanded that apart from the former PM, stern action should be taken against his political cronies including the President of Pakistan, the former speaker and deputy speaker of the National Assembly, former federal ministers, and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their brazen acts to undermining the constitution.
Ghani recalled he had earlier stated that Imran Khan had emerged as a security threat for the country when he had been serving as the PM.
He further recalled that during the prolonged sit-in of the PTI in Islamabad in 2014 Imran Khan had conducted civil disobedience movement by asking people not to pay their taxes and utility bills. He said at that time also Imran Khan had threatened to hang the Islamabad police chief.
The Sindh Labour Minister said that leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party had never given any statement against the integrity of the country, instead, they remained steadfast for the solidarity of Pakistan even after losing Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
He said that all the state institutions and media all of a sudden had become bad in the eyes of Imran Khan after he had been ousted from power.
He mentioned that Imran Khan had been given the opportunity to emerge victorious because of the controversial elections of 2018 even though the PTI had secured just 28 per cent of the votes polled in the country. He said the political parties, which were part of the present coalition government had secured 70 per cent votes in the same elections.
He said the judiciary had yet to adopt a harsh view towards Imran Khan as had been shown against the then Opposition parties in the past regime.
To a question, the Sindh Labour Minister said the PPP didn’t want to defer the local government elections in the province but the select committee of the Sindh Assembly had forwarded such a recommendation to the judiciary as the court would now take a final decision in this regard.
