Saraiki Women Association celebrates Saraiki Culture Day

Saraiki Women Association (SWA), a newly formed platform celebrated Saraiki culture day on Saturday late evening at the Karachi Press Club.

Mrs. Karam Akhtar, Founder & Chairperson SWA, Mrs. Parveen Tahir, Secretary General along with Saraiki journalists Mr. Nazir Leghari, Mr. Saeed Khawar, Mr. Akhtar Shaheen Rind, Mr. Ahsan Jatoi presented traditional Saraiki ajrak to Mr. Rizwan Bhatti, Secretary, Karachi Press Club, members governing body Mr. Liaquat Mughal, Khalil Nasir, Athar Hussain, former office bearers Khan Faran, Mr. Saeed Sarbazi, Mr. A. H. Khanzada and other journalists.

Mr. Rizwan Bhatti, Secretary KPC accompanied by Mr. Nazir Leghari, Mr. Saeed Khawar, Mr. Akhtar Shaheen Rind and Mr. Ahsan Jatoi presented traditional saraiki ajrak to Mrs. Karam Akhtar, Founder & Chairperson SWA, Mrs. Parveen Tahir, Secretary General, members Mrs. Seema Ikram, Mrs. Shaheen Siddiqui, Mrs. Afsheen Ahsan, Mrs. Haleema Shah Zaman, Mrs. Abida Batool, Founder Saraiki Awami Tirimat Tehreek, Mrs. Sadia Shakil, Secretary General, Saraiki activists Ms. Kiran Lashari, Ms. Asma Saleem, Ms. Nasreen Gul, journalists Zehra Usmani and Ms. Hoor Shumail.

Accompanied by SWA leaders Mrs. Karam Akhtar and Mrs. Parveen Tahir, senior journalists Mr. Nazeer Leghari, Mr. Saeed Khawar, Mr. Akhtar Shaheen Rind and Mr. Ahsan Jatoi presented ajrak to Prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Khan, Mr. Shahid Jatoi, Mr. Abid Khan, Prof. Tauseef Khan, Col. Retd. Abdul Jabbar Abbasi, Chairman, Pakistan Saraiki Qaumi Ittehad, Mr. Malik Rehmatullah, Chairman, Pakistan Hamdard Saraiki Party, Mr. Anwar Bhutta, Mr. Mir Afzal Qureshi, Mr. Waqar Gorchani, Dr. Shahid, Mr. Fareed, Mr. Khadim Abbasi and other journalists.

Speaking on this occasion Saraiki leaders and journalists appreciated efforts of SWA founders and other office bearers.

Sharing her views, Mrs. Karam Akhtar said that this platform was aimed to help Saraiki women to get their legal rights.

Mrs. Parveen Tahir said that they will address women issues on priority basis.
