Central Information Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamrntarinans PPP-P and member of the National Assembly Shazia Atta Marri has said that revival of student unions in Sindh province was the biggest and happiest news for Pakistan and after 38 years Sindh province became the first in the country to lift the ban on student unions.
“Our beloved leader, martyr Benazir Bhutto took efforts for the revival of students unions in the year 1989 but that time, Supreme Court of Pakistan imposed ban on student unions and today PPP’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has fulfilled the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto while lifting ban from student unions in the province”, she added.
Ms Marri said that Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has truly represented the youth in the country and has fulfilled the promise made with the youth of the province and similarly student unions in other provinces should be revived. This she said while talking to mediapersons in a press conference held at Clifton Karachi hereon today.
She said that Sindh Assembly unanimously passed the Sindh Student Union Bill to revive the student unions and it has three main points under which the election of students and formation of bodies will be carried out on time and student unions will be given representation in the syndicate, while students unions will also be included in the committees to be formed regarding the harassment cases.
She said that PPP’s preparation regarding the 27th of February’s long march against the rising inflation, joblessness, unavailability of urea fertilizer, price hike in electricity tarriff and anti-people policies of the PTI led government are underway.
Inflation rate of the country has exceeded from 13 percent and PTI government has failed to provide any relief to the people while today every sector in the country is being harmed.
She said that PPP has rejected the recent price hike of rupees 3 in the electricity tarriff and demanded it’s immediate withdrawal in order to provide relief to the masses. She said the incompetent prime Minister Imran Khan awarded appreciation certificates to his ten members which was shameful act and termed it as ” PTI government’s new comedy”. She added that awarding of appreciation certificates by Imran Khan to his ministers has shown his bewilderment and confusion while Imran Khan has lost the trust of the people. Ms Marri uttered that it is the time for all opposition parties to table a no-confidence motion in the national assembly against this incompetent government to oust it from power. She added that PPP as a democratic party has welcomed the decision of opposition parties to table a no-confidence motion against PTI led government and we will outs incapable government by the power of vote.
While praising the PPP stalwart Abdul Qadir Mandhokeel’s move against disqualification of PTI’s Faisal Wadwa, she said that PPP highly appreciated the Abdul Qadir Mandhokeel’s efforts to drop the PTI’s wicket in the shape of Faisal Wadwa.
She said that PPP’s Faisal Karim Kundi is going to contesting tomorrow in the the tehsil mayor of Dera Ismail Khan elections and PPP provided natural gas facility to people in the Dera Ismail Khan and also provided financial assistance to poor families through Benazir Income Support Program.
She added that it is hoped that the people of Dera Ismail Khan will support and vote for the PPP candidate Faisal Karim Kundi in mayor election.
