A review meeting of development schemes for the year 2021-2022 was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Sindh Najam Ahmad Shah in which Special Secretary Technical and other concerned officers were present.
On this occasion Secretary Local Government Sindh was informed that according to the data compiled till 31st December 2021, 264 development schemes under Local Government Wing are in final stages for which approximately 60% of 16924.314 million has been spent approximately.
Secretary Local Government Engineer Syed Najam Ahmad Shah while addressing the officers said that in the light of the worthy directions given by the Honourable Chief Minister and Minister Sindh Local Government, all the ongoing development schemes should be completed as soon as possible and the final report should be submitted on time.
Najam Ahmad Shah while instructing the concerned officers of all districts including Kashmore, Tando Allahyar and Jamshoro said that special attention should be given to the projects which require heavy cost and timely completion must take place of all the projects. Secretary LG urged that every single penny of the allocated money for projects, must be spent wisely for the development and welfere of the of the people.
Engineer Syed Najam Ahmad Shah told our correspondent that an amount of Rs 1800 million has been allocated for the two ongoing schemes running in collaboration with the federal government, out of which 99% has been spent already.
Sharing details about the mega schemes, Engineer Syed Najam Ahmad Shah said that the estimated cost of 6 ongoing schemes is 1395.321 million of which 64% has been utilised. The Secretary Local Government Sindh further said that 26 schemes are designed for Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, and 12 for the purpose of mega projects. Najam Shah further informed that a total of 303 schemes have been prepared by the Local Government Department in the schedule of new schemes.
Najam Ahmad Shah vowed that the scope of construction and development works would be expanded across the province and the mission of providing facilities to the people at their doorsteps would be accomplished.
