An important meeting regarding Coronavirus vaccination campaign was held in Sindh Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah here on Wednesday.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Qazi Shahid Pervez, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Health Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Secretary Colleges Khalid Haider Shah, Secretary School Education Ghulam Akbar Leghari participated while all the commissioners and deputy commissioners have participated through video link.
The meeting was briefed about the ongoing vaccination campaign in the province and vaccination drive in educational institutions.
In the meeting, the Health Secretary said that so far 1 crore 61 lakh 75 thousand people have received 1st dose while 1 crore 6 lakh people in the province have been vaccinated with both doses of the Corona virus vaccine.
It was further informed in the meeting that so far 282 thousand students have been vaccinated in government schools of Sindh and 82 thousand students have been vaccinated in private schools of the province while 76 thousand college students of the province have also been vaccinated.
In the meeting, Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah said that all private educational institutions of the province should ensure vaccination of their pupils.
The Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah said that all Deputy Commissioners should ensure the target of vaccination campaign and in case of non-completion of vaccination target, displeasure notice would be issued to the Deputy Commissioner. In the meeting, Chief Secretary Sindh directed the PPHI officials to also complete the vaccination target.
