LG Dept’s 577 schemes for the year 2021-2022 will facilitate people, Secretary Local Government Sindh
Secretary Local Government, Housing and Town Planning, Sindh Engineer Syed Najam Ahmad Shah has said that the development schemes allocated by the Local Government Department for the year 2021-2022 have covered all the sectors related to public benefit.
These views were expressed by Engineer Syed Najam Ahmad Shah while providing information to our correspondent regarding the annual development schemes of the Local Government Department. He said that 577 schemes allotted for the year 2021-2022 have been formulated exclusively for the purpose of public convenience and facilitation with a total value of Rs. 35500 million. According to Sindh Local Government Secretary, there are 268 schemes of Water and Sewerage Board, 11 schemes of construction, 210 schemes of roads and 6 schemes of solid waste. Commenting on mega schemes, Engineer Syed Najam Ahmad Shah said that 19 mega schemes have been allotted out of which 13 mega schemes are new and 6 mega schemes are continuation of old schemes.
Engineer Syed Najam Ahmed said that the Sindh government has started work on two projects in collaboration with the federal government to provide permanent solution to water and sewerage problems in Karachi city. According to Sindh Local Government Secretary, the Chief Minister and Minister Sindh Local Government is playing a vital role in the departmental development and the time is not far when Karachi will be included in the list of world’s best developed cities.
Najam Ahmad Shah vowed that the mission of providing best municipial services to the people of Sindh on their doorstep would be fulfilled in any case and this journey of development would be further expanded.
