Progress of FIA Sindh Zone-II Reviewed in Board Meeting

Director FIA Sindh Zone-II Mohammad Younus Chandio said that efforts are made to ensure the maximum transparency in handling the enquiries initiated on the basis of source reports.
He said that no any misconduct would be tolerated and no any enquiry would be closed on the initiated reports.
This he said while presiding the review meeting of FIA Sindh Zone-II Board Meeting held on Monday at Karachi which comprises of Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas and Shaheed Benazir Abad (SBA) circles.
The meeting attended by Additional Director Hyderabad Wasi Hyder, Deputy Director SBA Ayaz Mehr, Acting Deputy Director Mirpur Khas Deputy Director (Law) Nadeem Ahmed Chachar, Deputy Director Crime Zonal Office Ali Murad and other FIA Law officers & Investigation Officers (IOs) and Enquiry Officers (EOs) of all Circles.
The board meeting under the chair of Zonal Director Mohammad Younus Chandio reviewed the agenda items included progress made on Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Registration of Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) Cases on the recommendation of Police referred cases, conduct raids and register cases of hawala/hundi, proceed on international fresh search request of suspect/accused persons, generate source reports, disbursement of budget funds, equipment’s and uniform, conviction and case trial proceedings, timely submission of exploration reports, appeal against acquittal cases, disposal of pending enquiries.
The Zonal Director directed the Circle Heads and all the IOs to reduce the old pendency, 2019, 2020 within 30 days without fail. “If any enquiry is closed which is initiated on source, the departmental action would be initiated against the EO”, added FIA Zonal Director Mohammad Younus Chandio.
The Zonal Director stressed speedy disposal Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) related enquiries and AML cases pending for more than 03 months without fail. The Director further directed the circle heads to submit performance reports of all IOs and EOs on monthly basis to his office. FIA Zonal Director Mohammad Younus Chandio also directed the officer to focus on conviction and verification exceeding 14 days limit time be finalized forthwith on merit.
The Zonal Director Chandio also sharing the recent performance of the Zone said that the accused Mr. Imran S/o Ghulam Rasool Lashari and Muhammad Ayub Jamali S/o Shamsuddin Jamali were arrested recently, whereas accused Mr. Muhammad Iqbal S/o Bahadur convicted and sentenced under section 245(2) Cr.PC to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and to pay fine Rs.5,29,471.
