Strict action will be taken against those involved in corruption in wheat godowns; Jam Ikramullah Dharejo

An important meeting on prevention of wheat smuggling was held under the chairmanship of Jam Ikramullah Dharejo, Provincial Minister for Industries & Commerce and Anti-Corruption & Cooperative Department.

The meeting was also attended by Chairman Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh Iqbal Memon, Director Usman Ghani Siddiqui and all Deputy Directors of Sindh and other concerned officers.

The meeting reviewed in detail the performance of all the divisions. On the occasion, Provincial Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo while instructing the officers, has said that the officers of Anti-Corruption Department should intensify their operations against corruption.

He said that Anti-corruption Establishment Sindh had received a large number of complaints against Food Department.

Strict action should be taken against the accused and distribution of wheat bags should be made transparent while effective measures should be taken to curb wheat smuggling. He added, ‘ No negligence will be tolerated in this regard and prompt cases should be lodged against the elements involved in corruption ‘ .

He said that last year, the concerned officers of the Food Department who intentionally committed delayed in distributing wheat bags were dealt with very slowly.

Due to the slow operations, sand instead of wheat was found in the bags of the Food Department.

Sindh minister for Industries & Commerce and Anti-Corruption & Cooperative Department Jam Ikramullah Dharejo asked the officers of the Anti-Corruption Department to take action against the elements involved in corruption without any discrimination and the officers should perform their professional duties without any fear or favour.

On the occasion, Provincial Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo lauded the performance of Larkana Region and said that the performance of Deputy Director Larkana and his team was commendable.

He said that like other departments, the anti-corruption department lacks staff and facilities and he would inform the Chief Minister of Sindh about these issues. Hopefully these issues would be resolved soon.
