A delegation of Welfare Wing comprising Central Vice President Haji Muzaffar Ali Shajra, Central Deputy General Secretary Zeeshan Ali Khowaja Advocate, Karachi Regional President Ali Jan, Regional General Secretary Marghoob Hussain, Regional Senior Vice President Pir Zubair, met with the President Dr Arif Alvi on specific directives of Central President Habib Malik Orakzai at Sindh Governor House yesterday.
Deputy General Secretary Zeeshan Ali Khowaja Advocate revealed that almost 63 Pakistani fishermen most of them belonging to districts Thatta and Sajawal were detained in Indian prisons, India has released 13 prisoners while remaining are still in Indian custody and facing worst hardships, torturing, inhuman behavior and no facility available according to the Geneva Convention while neither the Indian authorities provide them food, medicine, shelter or basic human facilities nor they are being released as per agreements and promises that had already finalized in past even Indian regime does not handover the bodies of deceased fishermen.
Advocate Zeeshan Ali Khowaja also briefed in details regarding the worst condition of Pakistani fishermen imprisoned in different Indian jails.
Referring the promise of Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, that the PTI government will make and run Pakistan as ‘State of Medina’, the representatives of the delegation demanded President Dr Arif Alvi for immediate release of Pakistani fishermen and arrange their respectful return to Pakistan.
Divulging the instance of Pakistani fisherman Abdul Karim Bhatti, who had been a prisoner in India for seven months, was flown home to Karachi at the end of July, his family didn’t rejoice. They were receiving his dead body, Zeeshan Ali Khowaja Advocate requested President Alvi for stent practical action for release of all Pakistani prisoners.
