Khadim Hussain Rizvi gained fame in the country’s politics and media because of his fiery speeches. Millions of people followed him and liked his preaching. Millions of people gathered on just his one call.
Who is Khadim Hussain Rizvi? 54 years old Late Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi was born in 1966 in the Pindigheb area of Attock District, Punjab.
He was Hafiz e Quran and Sheikh ul Hadiths. He got his early religious education from Jhelum, Dina then moved to Lahore for further education.
He was the follower of religious scholar Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Barelvi.
Author : He was the writer of three religious books Tayaseer Abwab-ul-Sarf, Taleemat-e-Khadimiya, and Fazail-e-Durood Shareef.
Why he was paraplegic in a wheelchair? Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi is a paraplegic in a wheelchair due to an accident on 2006. Despite his physical conditions he is one of the most traveling scholar, delivering sermons in width and breadth of Pakistan.
Why a religious cleric got attention? In 2015, Allama Khadim Hussain founded a political party called Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP), a political front for Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYP).
Free Mumtaz Qadri Movement: In 2016, Khadim Hussain Rizvi became vociferous for the honor of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) when he led a sit-in at Islamabad against the PML-N government demanding the release of Mumtaz Qadri, who shot dead the-then governor Punjab Salman Taseer for alleged blasphemy.
In 2016, Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasoolullah (TLYRA), transformed into the political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan. In 2018, The TLP contested in Pakistan general elections, and won two seats in the Sindh Assembly, and became the fifth largest party in terms of votes.
Asia Bibi Case: In Oct. 2018, Under his leadership, the TLP‘s followers did protest in several cities of Pakistan when Pakistan’s supreme court acquitted a Christian woman, Asia Bibi, of blasphemy charges. In public speeches, Rizvi demanded that Asia should be subjected to the punishment for blasphemy under Pakistan’s penal code, Later he arrested on 23 November and then subsequently released on bail in May 2019. Asia Bibi was in jail for 9 years on allegations of blasphemy.
Zindagi Tamasha Film controversy: In 2020, again Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi promoted protests on the release of the Pakistani film “Zindagi Tamasha”. He accused film-maker sarmed khoosat of blasphemy. The material he alleged to be blasphemous includes criticism of Ullema and an alleged reference to bacha bazi.
The Last venture of Allama Khadim Rizvi: Khadim Hussain Rizvi was the most popular leader of the Barelvi school of thought, he led many protests and sit-ins, to the cause of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (PBUH), demanding punishment to the blasphemy accused.
Khadim Hussain Rizvi was also present at a sit-in protest against blasphemous sketches in France in the Faizabad area of Rawalpindi this week.
Under his leadership 5,000 people attended the protest rally in Rawalpindi. The TLP, led by Khadim Rizvi, had held talks with the government two days ago after protests at the Faizabad interchange against government-sponsored blasphemous sketches in France.
Demise: Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi died on 19th November 2020 in Lahore due to sickness.
After the death of TLP chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi, The High council of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan appointed Saad Rizvi (the son of khadim Hussain Rizvi) as a new chief of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan.
