Despite the tall claims of Sindh government, the Orange Line is still nowhere, despite its deadline has already been passed, but the PPP is criticizing the Peshawar BRT, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice President and the leader of parliamentary party in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh, talking to media here on Monday.
As per details, Haleem Adil Sheikh along with PTI MPs and leaders visited different points of the incomplete Orange Line corridor. Later, talking to media under the overhead bridge of Orange Line opposite the office of DMC West in Orangi Town, he said we will purchase the buses for the Green Line next year.
He said the Orange Line is still incomplete because the rulers of Sindh have embezzled its funds. He said the Sindh government has announced to give Karachi 10000 buses, but the megacity was not even given 10 buses. He said the Sindh government has never fulfilled any of its promises.
He said they blame that rainwater accumulated due to the Green Line. He asked did Korangi, Nazimabad, and Gulistan e Johar also submerge in rainwater due to the Green Line.
He asked did the Wazir Mansion also submerge due to the Green Line. He said the Sindh government had promised to make Orange Line, Red Line, Purple Line and Lines of other colors, but in fact the Sindh government only believes in Corruption and Kickbacks Line and Fake Bank Accounts Line. He said Murad Ali Shah had claimed to inaugurate the Orange Line on August 14, 2020, but they have only completed a U-turn of this Line.
This 3.9 kilometer Orange Line was a project of Rs2.3billion but the Sindh government has yet to complete it. He said we have already completed 67-km Peshawar BRT and in Karachi, the 21-kmGreen Line is also completed for which we are going to buy buses next year. He said these buses should have purchased by the Sindh government, but they did not do so.
He said the funds of the Orange Line have gone to some Benami Account. He said this provincial government could never complete the Orange Line due to its corruption.
Haleem Adil said that in Dadu district many villages are flooded due to the swelling of Nai Gaj and people have climbed to the trees to save their lives.
He said the rulers visited the area through helicopter on the next day, but did not send any helicopter to save stranded people. He said the Sindh government failed to rescue and rehabilitate them so far. He said KMC, DMC and KWSB are responsible for losses to the megacity Karachi and its citizens. He said the NDMA cleaned the Nullahs of Karachi in just five days.
He said the Sindh government this year also failed to clean the Nullahs. He said the provincial government is not serious to resolve the issues of Karachi.
He stated the whole Karachi is made a Kutchra Kundi. He said our Captain took notice of the overflowing Nullahs of Karachi and got main Nullahs cleaned just in five days. He asked why this task was not done by the provincial government.
