KDA Labour Union praises Minister Local Government efforts for support in resolving Employees issues
Sindh Government has issued grant of more than 200 Million to KDA for the payment of employees salaries , Whereas Chief Minister Sindh and Minister Local Government has put ban on payment of any other expense excluding salaries and pensions.
Sources informed that the recovery of Karachi Development Authority including other departments are zero due to lockdown and the employees of department are deprived of salaries and pensions from last 3 months. In addition contract and workcharge employees of kda has also not paid salaries from several months.
KDA Labour Union Patron in Chief Muhammad Ashraf stated that, KDA has got grant for the payment of salaries by the efforts of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Minister Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah and ADVisor to CM Sindh Waqar Mehdi.
Moreover he informed that as the said grant of more than 200 Million is not sufficient for the department to pay all employees salaries and pensions therefore the summary of 150 Million additional grant has been moved to Finance Minister which would also be approved soon.
Muhammad Ashrad said the employees of department are facing severe financial crisis due to non payment of salaries and pensions but in this regards Minister Local Government is fully supporting to cover the financial crisis of department and the employees are department and labour union thankful to him for cooperation and support to resolve the issues of employees.
However he shared that as per the orders of Sindh government no department could use funds on any other expenses excluding the payment of employees salaries and pensions.
Labour Union Patron in Chief said if any officer of department would use funds other than the payment of salaries and pensions then strict action will be taken against him. He said the Eidi campaign of Finance department is in danger due to the said orders.
