Coronavirus: Karachi to face huge loss if citizens may not take precautionary measures, Climate Expert
Climate expert Jan Muhammad Solangi on Thursday presented “Forecasted Risk Matrix Calculation” by using Geo Spatial techniques with programming on the base of affected coronavirus patients in each district of Sindh province , in which he categorized all the districts of Sindh with Very Low, low, moderate, high and very high risk.
He shared that this data is a road map for provincial government and as compare to other parts of Sindh Karachi is at higher risk of COVID-19.
He urged, Sindh Government should have to impose curfew in high risk districts of Karachi and need of sealing entry exit points of low risk areas to save them from the spread of coronavirus.
He advised that Government could lift lockdown from the low risk area by sealing the entry and exit points only for continuation of business activities in respective places.
High temperature would also a positive in dropping the spread of COVID-19 and it would prove beneficial for many district of Sindh Province.
According to the map 13 districts of Sindh including Kashmore, Ghotki, Sanghar, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Tando M.Khan, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal and Jamshoro comes under the list of very low risk areas.
Whereas as per the prediction of Climate Expert 8 districts of province including Jacobabad, Shahdadkot, Naushahroferoze, Larkana, Dadu ,Shaheed Benazirabad and Matiari are low risk areas. In addition Shikarpur, Sukkur and some part of Karachi are at moderate level of risk.
Defining moderate areas due to the report of cases some areas of Hyderabad and Sukkur comes at moderate risk if the government would sealed the borders of said area then it could be prove beneficial to control the spread of COVID-19 in other districts.
However as per the climate expert both high and very high risk areas are exist in Karachi city.
In Karachi DHA, Clifton, Kemari, Saddar , Gulshan, Gulistan e Johar, Nazimabad, Old City are comes under very high risk areas of Coronavirus , he advised for impose of curfew and fumigation in said areas to control the further spread of COVID-19.
He added that, Karachiites are not taking the issue seriously as huge number of public still gather at Departmental stores and outlets/shops related to food items as people touch there the same products which other could also touch and it could lead to the further spread of coronavirus.
Jan Solangi asked Karachities to not take the issue lightly as it spread in various parts of the city .
“If we would not take precautionary measures then we could have to face huge loss in Karachi” , he added.
