Model Courts in Pakistan has decided more than thirteen thousand cases within a period of over six months .
A Report regarding the performance of Model Criminal Trial Courts (MCTC) from the period of 1st April 2019 to 12th October 2019 stated that so far 13,402 cases has been decided in all over the country in just 195 days.
According to a report from 116 model courts of country Karachi’s Malir Court First Additional Judge Naveed Ahmed Soomro has resolved a total number of 400 cases including 127 murder and 273 Narcotics cases, which is the highest number from all of the model court’s performance.
Whereas District Charsadda Model Court Additional Judge by resolving 350 cases including 116 murder and 234 narcotics were second highest in the list.
However Punjab’s District Kasur Model Court on third number by resolving 331 cases including 103 murder and 228 narcotics cases.
It was mentioned in a report that total number of 3155 cases decided in 25 Model courts of Sindh, 5124 in Punjab, 4011 in KPK, 776 in Balochistan & 336 cases has been resolved in Model courts of Islamabad.
Hence, If we look into the province wise performance of Model Courts, In Sindh Malir COurt by deciding 400 cases on top, whereas 1st ADJ District East Court on second number by deciding 324 cases and Larkana Model Court on third by resolving 257 overall cases including murder and narcotics.
Similarly in Punjab District Kasur Model Court on top by deciding 331 cases, however Sargodha District Court on Second number by deciding 314 cases and Gujranwala on third number in the province by deciding 304 cases.
In KPK as per report Charsadda Model Court on first number by deciding 350 cases , however D.I Khan Model court on second position by deciding 273 cases and Mardan Court decides 264 cases on third top court of the province. Likewise Balochistan Model Court in Gawadar decided 101 cases, Dera Murad Jamali Model court resolved 100 cases and the Model Court of Quetta third top court of province by deciding 93 cases.
While according to report the Model court of Ziarat in Balochistan were on the top lowest position in all over the country, only 4 cases decided in a period of seven months.
It was learned that, on the directives of Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa 116 Model Criminal Trial Courts (MCTC) established across the country, which were functional from 1st April, it aimed to resolve the delayed cases on a priority basis for the ease of citizens.
Further a report described that, from 13402 cases 5296 were Murder cases as well as 8106 were the cases of narcotics.
