Solution to Kashmir issue

February 10, 2016 at 3:52 pm

Sir: Since its inception, Pakistan has been striving hard to convince the international community that the Kashmiri people must be given the right of self determination. Even the Security Council of the United Nations had passed a resolution for holding a plebiscite in held Kashmir. However, India is not ready to abide by these resolutions.Various governments in Pakistan tried to resolve the issue through a dialogue process but some way or the other the process has not become successful. Most of our energies and efforts are used in efforts to resolve this issue. But the issue can only be resolved through the economic stability of Pakistan. If we are economically strong, our stance would be given importance at all forums. There is an example of China and Hong Kong.China achieved Hong Kong without so much pain rather it was bestowed upon it as a gift of its economic progress. Many other instances are there to follow. If we are an economic power, all will support our stance. So we must focus our energies to this aspect and the Kashmir issue would be resolved automatically.
